The Arbor Circle and the Michigan Association of Infant Mental Health Present A Professional Development Series for Infant & Early Childhood Professionals:

Knowledgeable and Skillful Practice: Supporting Your Work With Infants, Toddlers, and Early Childhood Professionals

A two part series of four six-hour training events meeting the standards for
MI-AIMH endorsement for culturally sensative, relationship-focused practice
promoting infant mental health

Location: All sessions held at Arbor Circle, 1115 Ball Avenue NE, Building C, Grand Rapids, MI
Registration: Training full, reservations no longer taken
Time: All sessions run from 9:00am-4:30pm
Accreditation and Endorsement: CE hours from the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative will be available. Northwest Infant Mental Health Training Consortium Presents:
Promoting Best Practice to Strengthen Secure Relationships for Infants, Young Children, and Their Families:

Child-Parent Intervention With Young Witnesses of Violence

Date: Friday, May 2, 2008
Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm (sign-in/hospitality 1/2 hour before Session)
Location: The Hagerty Center, NMC Great Lakes Campus, 715 East Front Street, Traverse City, MI
Fee: $23.00 for participants who are sponsoring agency employees, $75.00 for others (continental lunch and breakfast provided)
Audience: Therapists, home visitors, Head Start staff, day care providers, classroom aids, administrators, OB, pediatric, and public health nurses, physical, occupational and speech therapists, social workers and all other professionals working with very young children and their families.

Content: This workshop will give a basic knowledge about the impact of violence on young children's development and the use of child-parent psychotherapy to help alleviate risks.

Presenter: Patricia Van Horn, J.D., Ph.D., University of California, San Francisco - Author, trainer and researcher at the Child Trauma Research Project focusing on children under 6 who have witnessed domestic violence

Audience: CMH Clinicians and Supervisors, Infant Mental Health Specialists, social workers, psychologists, therapists, nurses, and other professionals interested in the use of the DC: 0-3 R™
Content: addresses the axes and diagnostic classifications used in DC: 0-3 R™; assessment, evaluation and diagnosis of very young children; and use of crosswalks between ZERO TO THREE's DC: 0-3 R™ and DSM-IV and ICD-9 or 10.
